Beloved,
There will come a time in your life when you must trust God’s Heart when you can’t see God’s hand. I know how you are waiting on God to show up in your life. You are trusting God to remove a difficult situation and your strength is being tested. In this moment, you must muster the courage to remember all the ways God has delivered you in the past. As you trust God, there is a dangerous feeling that will creep into your soul.
This is the urge to quit. As the Apostle Paul says, “there is a war in my innermost parts” (Romans 7:19). You can trust that the same God who made a way for you in the past, is still working on your behalf right now. You have to trust God when it seems impossible because you know what is impossible with man is possible with God.
Part of you wants to keep trusting God and part of you wants to give up. I have always struggled with my longing to want more from God. Am I asking too much? Am I begging? Am I not grateful? These are the questions I ask myself from time to time when I go to God asking for anything, no matter what it is. While I am incredibly thankful for all God has done so far, I feel there has to be more.
Even as believers, we become complacent where we are, limiting our expectations to what we know and not what is possible. The bible says Jabez asks God for more. His current reality was not sufficient to what he knew God could do, therefore, he stepped out on faith asking God to broaden his territory. God granted his request because Jabez had remained devoutly faithful.
