“Power Moment Wednesday”
Beloved, the pathway to a life of peace:
“Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?” Proverbs 20:24
This is a powerful truth that is repeated in Jeremiah 10:23. “O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.” We cannot understand our way apart from the One who created us. All attempts of men to understand the meaning of life apart from the Giver of life are futile. Jesus demonstrates this truth perfectly in His life and ministry. “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” John 5:30
Jesus’ dependency upon His Father was one of the defining characteristics of His humility. Jesus had a free will just like any other person, but His life was a perfect example of a life totally sold out to the Father’s will. Our assignment may be different than Jesus’s, but our commitment to the Father’s will for our lives should be no different. The only person our lives should be totally sold out to is God the Father.
