Beloved,
In the Bible there is a period called the “year of jubilee.” This was a period in which all debts were forgiven, prisoners would be set free and personal feuds were laid to rest. The most powerful effect of this season we have gone through is that we have been forced to deal with ourselves. For the first time in a long time, We have no excuse, we have to look at ourselves in the mirror and say, “IS THIS HOW I WANT TO LIVE?”
As you ask yourself this question I cannot help but wonder if in some mystic way, this pandemic is a kind of Jubilee moment, where we can reset our values, reset our goals and even reset our relationship with God. I encourage you to forgive yourself. God already has. I encourage you to stop being so hard on yourself. That mistake that you made 10 years ago, is OVER. It has no power over you. It has no claims on your personhood. LET IT GO! IN the name of JESUS.
Here is a prayer to help you keep moving forward.
Dear God,
You have called me to do great and wonderful things. I come before you today with great expectations for all you shall reveal through me. As I wait on you God, I pray that will help me to keep my thoughts and intentions on what lies ahead and not in what lies behind. GOD PLEASE HELP ME TO FORGIVE MYSELF. You are speaking to me and I pray in the name of Jesus that I will have the courage to listen to you. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
